Today we had a follow up appointment with Dr. Pattisapu. He removed the band-aids on Ananda's head, the holes from the headframe are healing nicely. And we discussed the findings on her MRI last month - concerning the enlargement of her ventricle horn. We are scheduling a flash MRI in 6 weeks to see what exactly is going on...

In May 2007, our 6-year-old daughter had "the worst headache of my life" - the symptoms of a brain hemorrhage due to an Arteriovenous Malformation (AVM). She survived and is awaiting Radiosurgery in the upcoming weeks and is expected to make a full recovery...

What is an AVM?
An illustration depicting an arteriovenous malformation, or AVM, an abnormal collection of blood vessels. Normally, red oxygenated blood is pumped by the heart through arteries to the tissues, and blue, deoxygenated blood then passes back to the heart through the veins. In an AVM, the artery connects to a vein, preventing blood from reaching the tissue but also putting pressure on veins. Mediscan/Corbis

Hello I've met Ananda at this year Gaian Mind and she is so precious! what a great girl she is, so full of joy and happines! hope things are getting better for her! she deserves the best! and expecially to be a normal little girl who can enjoy her childhood to the fullest! much love and blessings to Ananda deep from my heart! and i also will be there in North Carolina next weekend to support the event!
